Humans made dogs to be our best friends; our relationship used to be reciprocal. But today, dogs have become a commodity – bred, bought, sold and mistreated at will. We need to reset the human-canine relationship by protecting all dogs and ensure their welfare.
Wunderdog calls for an education-based, compassionate dog licence akin to a theoretical driving test. We also call for regulation to stamp out dogs’ suffering at our hands, e.g. through illicit breeding, unregulated trainers and fireworks.

Following its consultation on the matter in August 2021, we call on the government to see this ban through.
With The Dog Manifesto, we bring together existing campaigns by dog welfare groups and new demands published in Wunderdog Magazine. We’re producing The Dog Manifesto podcast episodes with campaigners, lawmakers and stakeholders, seek meetings with the governmental departments, and collect resources relevant to The Dog Manifesto’s demands. All this information will be collated on this website, and we’ve made available a distilled version as leaflets ahead of the next General Election. Click here to download our free leaflet! #votedog
